Terez Benoit’s photography and found object artworks seek to capture the complexities of our daily lives and emotions by reconnecting with the present moment. By examining common experiences, the legitimacy of the walls, fractures, and societal divides we create between one another are called into question.

Originally specializing in commercial art, Benoit earned their Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation with an Emphasis in Graphic Design from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 2019. In their early career, they created work for clients like Pearson Publishing (U.S. and U.K.), the American Bar Association, Cleveland Cavaliers E-Sports, Cleveland Metroparks, and more. Benoit’s work has been screened in the Planetarium at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, the Reinberger Gallery at the Cleveland Institute of Art, and on the Power Portal in Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. They were honored with the opportunity to act as Juror for the Scholastic Art + Writing Awards (2022, 2024) and to be an Alumni Guest Speaker at the Cleveland Institute of Art on the topics of hurricane restoration, relief, and the arts (2023, 2024). Benoit has garnered awards across multiple disciplines, including Best Collaborators (awarded by the Global Manager of Creative Visualization at General Motors, 2018) and Final Selection at Celebrating a Decade of Animated Brilliance: The Cleveland Institute of Art Student Film Showcase (2023).

Currently, Benoit lives and makes art in South Louisiana and serves as an Alumni Council Member and Alumni Ambassador at the Cleveland Institute of Art.
